Please note a change of date for the Local Plan Public Meeting

Save the Date: Local Plan Public Meeting @LCC, 1st October, 7pm

We will be hosting a Public Meeting at the Langham Community Centre at 7pm on the evening of Thursday 1st October with three objectives:

(i) to discuss and explain our draft representation on behalf of the village

(ii) to seek your support for it

(iii) to explore potential legal options to continue to fight the plan via Judicial Review, should it not be thrown out as unsound by the Planning Inspector

You can read much more about the Regulation 19 proposals for Langham on the Parish Council website here. (The updated Plan has only slightly reduced the PP37 allocation from 900 to 850 new dwellings).

A Parish Council Working Group is hard at work preparing a detailed representation challenging the soundness and legality of this huge PP37 housing allocation.

Whilst we would certainly not want to discourage residents from making their own individual representations, to have any positive effect they need to be evidence based and well-targeted at the tightly constrained scope of the Planning Inspector’s review. Quality, not quantity, is the watchword for this consultation. Repetition of the same or very similar material across multiple representations will carry no additional weight.

We would therefore encourage residents to hold fire until early October before making a representation. Please then review Langham Parish Council’s draft representation (which we will share on the LPC website) and consider whether you can add any new points to supplement or strengthen the LPC submission.

We look forward to a good meeting on the 1st October.

Let’s Save our Village and stop the Langham 900/850!
